American Research Bureau (ARB) is a leader in international genealogical research, heirship determination and the location of missing and unknown heirs. ARB is frequently asked by courts, attorneys, administrators and trust officers to provide documentation and appear as an expert witness in court cases. Brief History - ARB was founded in 1935 and restructured as a partnership in 1941. In 1985, ARB incorporated in the State of California. In 1986, founder Vincent H. Telling retired and Mary E. Schwartz became President and Chairman of the Board. Currently, Thomas M. Nelson is Chief Executive Officer and Mary Schwartz continues as Chairman of the Board. For more than 70 years, ARB has been a leading company in the location of missing and unknown heirs. Offices - ARB has maintained offices in Los Angeles, California from 1935 to the present. ARB's Salt Lake City Research Center opened in Utah in 1991 and houses an extensive private library devoted to heirship research. It is also located near the Family History Library which holds the largest collection of genealogical records in the world. ARB has additional offices in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and New York City, New York. ARB's network of employees, correspondents, investigators, and researchers extends throughout the United States and to numerous foreign countries.
